Prags / Braies
Braies, the paradise in the centre of the Braies Dolomites, which lies between the two villages of Villabassa/Niederdorf and Monguelfo/Welsberg in the Val Pusteria/Pustertal. A small, romantic place, which impresses with its untouched natural landscape and invites you to wonder and dream. The varied landscape with different karst phenomena is extremely fascinating.
One of the most beautiful natural lakes in South Tyrol, is located at the end of the Valle di Braies/Pragser Tal. The Braies Lake is famous for its crystal clear, blue water, surrounded by the majestic Dolomites mountains. This lake is often used as a film setting, such as recetly in the popular TV series with Terence Hill, "Un passo dal cielo" (RAI).
Another natural highlight is the Pasture Prato Piazza, a high plateau with a breathtaking panorama.
Summer and winter in Braies/Prags
Peace and relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Hikes in Braies are considered particularly beautiful. Hiking in the Nature Park of Fanes-Senes-Braies is particularly enjoyable. Braies also has many exciting trails for mountain bikers.
This destination is also highly recommended in winter. In the midst of a beautiful scenery, it is possible to cross-country ski or toboggan. Two ski lifts invite you to ski and snowboard.
Another little tip: a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the valley is a real highlight for many visitors.
