Brixen Stadt / Bressanone città
The medieval bishop's town of Brixen, which is considered the oldest town in South Tyrol, fascinates many visitors every year with its historic alleys, houses, arcades and bridges. The city in the Valle ISarco/Eisacktal is surrounded by wonderful mountains, which invites you to hike in summer and to ski and snowboard in winter. But also the city itself has a lot to offer.....
The city of Bressanone/Brixen
Between the historic houses and the winding alleys in the centre of the old town of Bressanone/Brixen you will find the beautiful Cathedral, with the cathedral cloister, the Hofburg Castle and the monasteries.
The third largest city in South Tyrol offers a colourful (cultural) programme for young and old all year round. Museums, theatre performances, exhibitions...there is much to discover.
Guided mountain hikes in summer and the contemplative Christmas market in winter are a must.
Between the small and large arcades there are many shops that invite you to stroll around and the best way to end the day is to have an aperitif at the Piazza Duomo/Domplatz.
The Acquarena in the centre of Bressanone/Brixen, with several pools, saunas and a bowling alley, is always worth a visit.
