Walking and hiking in Val Martello

There are many opportunities for hiking and walking in Val Martello: a short walk through the valley or a panorama hike in the mountains with a view of the amazing mountain world or a summit tour for the most experienced – this valley is a true hiking paradise.

Even in the cold months, the Martell Valley leaves nothing to be desired: The valley offers a cross-country skiing and biathlon center. Winter sports enthusiasts can choose between the great offer of winter hiking trails or snowshoe hikes.

The Strawberry Valley

The valley is also known for its delicious strawberries. Nowhere else in Europe, the cultivation of berries is practiced at such an altitude as in the Martell Valley. Martell berries are grown at 1300 meters. Among the strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants, and blueberries ripen here and are of excellent quality. Thanks to the altitude the berries ripen slowly and therefore they are particularly tasteful. You can buy fresh berries in the various farm shops.

Many events are also connected to the berries, including the South Tyrolean Strawberry Festival on the last weekend in June. Regionality, culture, entertainment - that is the motto of the Strawberry Festival.
