The hotel Filipinum with its 37 rooms, divided into the main building and a neighboring house, the so-called "Villa", is located in one of the most beautiful area at Merano. Surrounded by greenery, away from main roads and traffic noise, but still only a 10 minute walk from the historic center of Merano, where you will find everything that makes Merano so popular. From the thermal baths to the romantic arbors and much more. 

The Gardens of "Trauttmansdorff" you can reach in an easy 20 minute walk from the Hotel: an absolute must for everyone! The castle and its grounds were a favorite haunt of Empress Sissi during the Hapsburg Monarchy; today you’ll find a breathtaking, interactive botanical complex with 80 different garden worlds, Alpine and Mediterranean plants, a museum of Alpine tourism and an exciting array of events and exhibitions.

Experience the magic of diversity in enchanting South Tyrol! The Hotel Filipinum is an ideal base to explore the holiday area of Merano and Environs: from the simple walks on the beautiful promenades and the walks with a beautiful view on one of the "Waalwege" trails which run along a sophisticated network of agricultural waterways, dug during medieval times in order to bring water from the mountains to the dry fields, winding through orchards, meadows and forested sections at mild grades,  to more demanding tours to Merano 2000, Hochmuth and many more. Whether you prefer easy walks in the picturesque parks or adventurous climbs in the mountains – Merano and surroundings is the place for you to be at!

Our 3,000 m² garden with sunbathing area and a heated outdoor pool (from april to october) is a perfect place to relax. You can rent sun loungers, parasols and bath towels for free. On the way to the garden you can find a table tennis ready for a sporty match. A retreat can be found in our beautiful chapel or at our reading corner. In the bar with the beautiful adjoining terrace you can relax and unwind in wonderful silence. In the beautiful summertime you can weekly enjoy a barbecue evening at our terrace and in autumn our typical South Tyrolean "Törggele"  evening with roasted chestnuts and "Sußer" (sweet wine). 

All rooms are equipped with private WC, shower, telephone with direct dialing, hairdryer and satellite TV. Most of our rooms also have a safe and a balcony with an amazing view of the mountains of Merano.

Every day the chef conjure up delicious and refined South Tyrolean, Italian and international culinary delights. Our waiters are glade to serve you a good glass of wine from South Tyrol. Our 3/4 board  includes a rich breakfast buffet, with many regional products, the afternoon buffet with salads, salty and sweet delights and in the evening we serve you a salad buffet and a delicious choice menu, as well as daily a vegetarian menu.

We attach great importance to sustainability and the environment and that's why we support our South Tyrolean farms and farmers. Your well-being is very important for us and that we reflected in the quality and freshness of our products. You are also welcome to book only overnight or bed and breakfast.

Every day from 10 am to 6 pm, we prepare for you a table with nuts, dried fruit and apples, where you can serve you for a refreshment in the meantime.

You can park your car for free in our hotel garage and for electric cars you will find a parking place for a fee with charging facility.

If you like to do a tour by bike, we rent mountain bikes for free and electric bikes for a fee (from april to september).

We dispose also of a small fitness room.

Free WLAN is available throughout the hotel and there is also a computer with internet access available.
