Discover Monte San Pietro/Petersberg

The most famous place of pilgrimage in South Tyrol lies in Monte San Pietro/Petersberg: the Maria Weißenstein/Pietralba Monastery. If you want to go there, the best place to start is at Casa Emmaus in Laives/Leifers. This pilgrimage path is very special and can be completed in about four hours.

Another highlight in Monte San Pietro/Petersberg is its golf club, with an 18-hole course. In addition, numerous hiking tours start from here into the surrounding mountain landscape.

In winter, you can find a small ski lift in Monte San Pietro/Petersberg with two ski slopes close to the village centre. Here, children and beginners can try their first ski runs in peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle. At the village lift there is also a toboggan run and a cosy ski hut.

For all those who like something more demanding: the ski paradise of Obereggen is only a 30-minute drive away. From there you have the possibility to access four further skiing areas with your day ski pass: the Latemar, Alpe Lusia, Alpe Cermis and Jochgrimm-Oclini ski area.

Skiing, tobogganing, winter hikes, mountain tours and excursions in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage are a memorable experience for young and old.

Our tip: during the pre-Christmas period on the banks of Lake Carezza there will be set up a small, suggestive Christmas market. A truly unmissable event!
