Oberinn / Auna di Sopra

The small mountain village Oberinn/Auna di Sopra on the sunny plateau of Ritten/Renon is located above the city of Bozen/Bolzano at an altitude of 1,303 metres. With its stunning view of Rittner Horn/Corno del Renon, Kohlern/Colle, and the provincial capital of Bozen/Bolzano, it is a popular holiday destination.

Enjoy the sun

The sunniest town in South Tyrol is a true paradise when it comes to skiing and hiking. In just a few minutes, you can reach mount Rittner Horn or the famous earth pyramids. On the many hiking trails, you can explore the surroundings.

There is also a modern funicular, which takes you to Bozen in just a few minutes. A narrow-gauge railway circulates between the town of Maria Himmelfahrt/Santa Maria Assunta, Oberbozen/Soprabolzano, and Klobenstein/Collalbo, taking you past green fields and flower meadows, with a unique view of the Dolomites and mount Schlern/Sciliar.

During the winter months, taking this train is a real highlight as well, because it connects two truly beautiful Christmas markets: Klobenstein and Oberbozen. If you want to go skiing, the near skiing area Rittner Horn is the perfect place. But other skiing areas, like Obereggen, Reinswald, and Seiser Alm/Alpe di Siusi, are not far away either.

Our advice:

The beekeeping museum at the historical farm Platterhof is located in Oberbozen. Inside the renovated building, you can find out interesting things about beekeeping in South Tyrol: it is definitely worth a visit, especially for families!
