Ranking search results

How do we sort results

How do search results work?

The presentation and order of the search results displayed on the website are based on a dynamic algorithm and depend on a variety of factors. One of these factors is the combination of search criteria that users enter on the website. These search criteria include the following variables:

• Destination
• Date
• Number of guests
• Included dishes

Furthermore, users can influence the search results by using certain filter options. The following filter options are provided to users to refine their search:

• Type of facility
• Type of accommodation
• Classification
• Sustainability
• Amenities
• Subject areas

In addition, the sorting of the displayed offers can be influenced by the sorting preferences selected by users. The following sorting options are provided:

• Classification ascending
• Classification descending
• Price ascending (only if a date was selected as a search criterion)
• Price descending (only if a date was selected as a search criterion)
• Guest reviews

The presentation and order of the search results are randomly allocated, provided that users don’t apply one of the above-mentioned search criteria. In that case, the operating result per device, through which the search query has started, is subject to a randomized algorithm. The new order of the result list will appear after two minutes.
