St. Martin in Thurn / San Martino in Badia

San Martino in Badia/St. Martin in Thurn, at the entrance to the Val Gardena/Gardetal, is part of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz holiday region and lies in the midst of the breathtaking mountain world of the Dolomites. This idyllic village appears very natural and unspoilt. Here the Ladin culture and tradition are very important: you can visit the "Ladin Culture Institute" and the "Museum Ladin" to get a deep insight into Ladin life.

Pure nature idyll

With the Puez-Odle Nature Park and the imposing Dolomites, the varied mountain landscape is a real "Eldorado" for hikers in summer. Many mountaineers explore Dolomite peaks such as the Mount Sasso Putia, the local mountain of the area.

In winter it's off to the slopes. The popular and large Plan de Corones/Kronplatz ski resort is only one kilometre away from San Martino/St. Martin. Also the Alta Badia slopes, with the famous Sellaronda ski route, can be easily reached by shuttle bus, which leaves every 20 minutes.

For cross-country skiers there is a special cross-country ski slope at the foot of the Mount sasso Putia and also tobogganists, ski tourers and snowshoe hikers get their money's worth in the valley.
