St. Georgen / San Giorgio

At the entrance to the Valli di Tures e Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal is the small town of San Giorgio/St. Georgen in the Val Pusteria/Pustertal. San Giorgio/St. Georgen is part of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz holiday region and is located only about one kilometre from the medieval city of Brunico/Bruneck, a well worth seeing destination.

Both in summer and winter, San Giorgio/St. Georgen has a lot to offer and, with its pretty cafés and beautiful alleys, is always worth a visit.

A beautiful and unique mountain landscape right on your doorstep! The nearby Valli di Tures e Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal offer countless possibilities for hikers. But also the Dolomites in the southern part of the valley are a real hiking paradise!

For all Nordic Walking fans there are very great tours to do in the Nature Fitness Park, which leads from Falzes/Pfalzen to San Giorgio/St. Georgen and to Rasun/Rasen.

Here cyclists or mountain bikers are spoilt for choice between many routes of varying difficulty.

The winter becomes still more eciting. The wintersports resort "Plan de Corones/Kronplatz" is not far away from San Giorgio/St. Georgen. Furthermore, with the ski bus you can quickly reach the ski area. Otherwise there are still many ski areas in the Dolomites like in the Val Gardena/Gadertal or in the Valli di Tures e Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal.
