Tarsch / Tarres

The village of Tarsch/Tarres in the Venosta Valley is part of the municipality of Latsch/Laces. It is situated at 850m above sea level and has 600 inhabitants. Here, the small church of St. Medardus and the parish church of St. Michael are worth a visit.

The village is particularly beautiful in spring when the apple trees are in full blossom. During this period, a walk, or a bike tour along the river Etsch is recommended. The signposted bike route leads from Reschen to Meran.

Alpe di Tarres

Shortly above the village of Tarsch, a chair lift takes you up to the Alpe di Tarres. The historic chairlift takes you up to 1.940m. Arrived at the top, you will find yourself in front of a wonderful hiking area with easy hiking paths for the whole family and difficult trails for hiking experts.

In winter, the Alpe di Tarres turn into a winter paradise far away from stress and bustle. The skiing area is very special thanks to the sunny slopes in a friendly environment, which is perfect for families. Also in the nearby Marell Valley, time seems to stand still during the winter months. It is one of the most beautiful skiing areas in South Tyrol.

Christmas magic

During Christmas time, you should visit the beautiful and atmospheric Christmas markets in Meran. If you prefer a smaller one, South Tyrol’s smallest city – Glurns – is a place you should not miss!
