Trafoi

The small village Trafoi is in the western part of South Tyrol at the foot of the Ortler Range. The idyllic village, with about 80 inhabitants, is embedded in a beautiful natural landscape and lies directly on the road that leads to the highest mountain pass in Italy – the Stelvio Pass.

The glacier region has 300 sunny days** a year and is a true hiking paradise.

Holiday in Venosta Valley

Whether hiking, mountaineering, romantic walks, or a mountain bike tour: Trafoi is the ideal holiday destination for all active holidaymakers.

Culturally interested people can visit monasteries, museums, castles, and other attractions here. We recommend going to the famous Coira Castle, which is the location of South Tirolean’s Medieval Games every year.

The winter in the skiing area Ortler is full of action and a perfect place for a family holiday. In Trafoi you will be rewarded again and again with a fabulous view of the magnificent Ortler Range. Whether for tobogganing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or a leisurely winter walk, you will never become bored here.

By the way: The world-famous alpine ski racer Gustav Thöni was born and raised in Trafoi.
