Paradise for winter sports lovers
When autumn is slowly coming to its end and the first mountain peaks are already white, many hikers looking for peace and quiet will find an untouched natural landscape and lonely paths.
In winter, nature, dressed in white, can be really enjoyed, especially by snowshoe hikers and ski tourers. There are two ski areas for all skiers and snowboarders: Klausberg and Speikboden. On the well groomed slopes beginners and advanced skiers are well looked after. Two cross-country trails and several toboggan runs round off the offer.
The small Christmas market in Sand in Taufers is very suggestive during the Advent season. A horse-drawn sleigh ride afterwards guarantees unforgettable holiday moments.
