Uttenheim / Villa Ottone

Villa Ottone/Uttenheim is part of the municipality of Gais in the Valli di Tures e Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal and belongs to the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz holiday region. The Villa Ottone Castle is located on a rocky slope above the village and was built in the 11th century. Also worth seeing is the parish church of Vila Ottone/Uttenheim.

Many tourists, however, are attracted to Villa Ottone/Uttenheim and the surrounding area for an active holiday.

Not far from Villa Ottone/Uttenheim there is the city of Brunico/Bruneck, which is definitely worth a visit - especially in winter, when it is home to one of the most beautiful Christmas Markets in South Tyrol.

Villa Ottone/Uttenheim is also the ideal destination for all ski and winter sports enthusiasts! All you have to do is choose between the numerous ski resorts of the area: Plan de Corones/Kronplatz in Val Pusteria/Pustertal, Alta Badia in Val Badia/Gadertal or Klausberg in Valle Aurina/Ahrntal.
