Weitental / Vallarga

Vallarga/Weitental - the small holiday region in the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal with its 900 inhabitants, is located only three kilometres from the municipality of Vandoies/Vintl. The idyllic scenery and the quiet surroundings are perfect for nature lovers.

Hiking in Vallarga/Weitental

The "Pfunderer Höhenweg", which leads along the Valarga/Weitental, is particularly recommended. It is 70 kilometres long and leads from Vipiteno/Sterzing in the Vallarga/Wipptal to Brunico/Bruneck in the Val Pusteria/Pustertal. Certainly ou won't get bored, since on this unique path you can admire untouched natural landscapes, have fantastic views on the surrounding mountains and valleys and discover many traditional mountain farms, where old handicraft traditions, such as straw hat making, come back to life.

There are many alpine pastures to discover around Vallarga/Weitental. Moreover, aroung Vandoies/Vintl you can find some beautiful hiking trails.

Winter fun in the Valle Isarco/Eisack Valley

In the proximity there are some ski areas which can be easily reached by car, e.g. the Plose near Bressanone/Brixen or the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz in Brunico/Bruneck. The medieval towns of Brunico/Bruneck and Bressanone/Brixen are not far away if you fancy a stroll through the city.
