Ahrntal / Valle Aurina

The Valle Aurina/Ahrntal is also known as the "Valley of the 3,000m peaks" - no wonder, after all, the valley is framed by 84 impressive three-thousand-metre peaks. The Valle Aurina/Ahrntal fascinates its guests with its unspoilt nature, its wide fields and green meadows. The Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park, with its stunning glaciers and mountain peaks, is the ideal location for climbing and hiking enthusiasts. If you prefer not to go too high, you can take a less demanding walk or a mountain bike tour in the valley.

Adventure holidays in Valle Aurina/Ahrntal

As soon as the summer arrives in the Valle Aurina/Ahrntal, there is a lot to experience, such as a rafting trip on the Aurino/Ahr river or a paragliding flight over the mountains. In Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers there is also a small, beautiful natural swimming pond, which invites you to jump into the cool water.

To all culture lovers we recommend a visit to the Taufers Castle, which is well worth seeing, or to the Predoi/Prettau mine in the rear Valle Aurina/Ahrntal. Here you have the opportunity to take a mine train into the heart of the mountain and learn interesting facts about the mine.

Winter Wonderland

Already by the end of September, the high peaks of the Valle Aurina/Ahrntal are snow-covered. When winter arrives throughout the valley, it is particularly beautiful to explore the landscape on a walk, a snowshoe hike or by cross-country skiing. For those who love romance, we recommend a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered valley through the beautiful mountain landscape.

When the first Christmas lights illuminate the streets, the Christmas mood rises in the valley. There are particularly beautiful Christmas markets to discover here, such as the Enchanted Forest at the Riva Waterfalls or the Christmas Market at the Taufers Castle.

For winter sports enthusiasts, the Valle Aurina/Ahrntal has plenty to offer too. In fact, you have the choice between four ski resorts nearby: Speikboden, Klausberg, the small ski resort of Riva di Tures/Rein in Taufers and the alpine world "Alpinwellt Weißenbach".
