Niederdorf / Villabassa
At an altitude of 1,154 m above sea level lies the small village of Villabassa/Niederdorf. Surrounded by the Dolomites of Sesto/Sexten and Braies/Prags, Villabassa/Niederdorf is known above all as a mountain health resort. Already in the 19th century, prominent guests spent their summer holidays here. Today in Villabassa/Niederdorf there is Italy's 1st Kneipp for me village. An exciting experience for young and old.
In the heart of the Dolomites
No matter if summer or winter, this little village in Alta Pusteria is ideally situated in the heart of the Dolomites, the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In winter, a ski train takes you directly to the Valley-Station Helm in Versciaco/Vierschach and to the Valley Station Kronplatz/Plan de Corones. Cross-country skiers also get their money's worth here, since Alta Pusteria has 200 km of cross-country trails for cross-country skiing.
In summer, numerous hiking trails around Villabassa/Niederdorf attract many guests.
The Pusterbike Cycle Path, a rather leisurely path with no major inclines, is ideal for cyclists. A highlight in July is the Dolomiti Superbike in Alta Pusteria - the biggest mountain bike race in Italy with over 3,500 participants from all over the world.
Thanks to the central station in Villabassa, more and more guests now leave their cars at home.
